Mel Peddie
President / Chief Executive Officer
Mel Peddie is a seasoned business executive with more than 40 years of leadership in the oil, gas, mining, petro-chemical and forestry sectors. As President, Vice President of Operations, Director of Operations, Project Manager and Construction Manager, Mel has guided organizations through rapid growth, complex turnarounds and high-profile greenfield projects. He combines technical aptitude with keen business acumen to deliver multimillion-dollar projects safely, on time and on budget. A recognized expert in industrial labour relations (CLAC), Mel has built and led diverse teams to exceed operational goals and cultivate sustainable employer-union partnerships.
Adam Peddie
Vice President
Adam Peddie is a seasoned mechanical and fabrication leader with over 25 years of progressive experience in heavy industrial maintenance, fabrication and shop operations. As Vice President at South 49 Construction since 2013, he combines deep technical knowledge with strong project‐management and safety leadership to deliver complex maintenance and fabrication solutions on schedule and within budget. Adam holds a Red Seal Millwright designation and a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, underscoring his commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and team development.
Kimble Garrett
Vice President
Kimble Garrett is a co-owner of South 49 Construction, bringing over 30 years of experience in Senior Management of multi-disciplined engineering firms, construction companies, and major international industrial equipment manufacturing companies associated with the Wood Products and Waste-to-Energy industries. Kimble supports company operations with a focus on safety, planning, engineering and disciplined execution across industrial and commercial work. Kimble is committed to ensuring South 49 consistently delivers reliable, high-quality construction solutions while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Brian Skeoch
Vice President
Brian Skeoch is a performance-driven executive with over 40 years of experience leading large-scale construction and maintenance projects across the mining, forestry, and energy sectors. Known for excellence in safety leadership and financial management, he has successfully delivered multi-million-dollar EPC projects ahead of schedule and under budget throughout North America.
Terry Jones
Director of Operations
Terry Jones serves as an Operations Manager at South 49 Construction, overseeing project execution and field operations across multiple markets. Terry brings a disciplined, safety-first mindset to planning, coordination, and day-to-day jobsite leadership.
Terry works closely with project teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations.

Timothy Via is a purpose-driven leader with over 25 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, recycling, and mill service industries. A strategic thinker and effective communicator, Tim excels at aligning operational initiatives with organizational priorities to drive safety, productivity, and profitability. Known for his adaptability under pressure, strong mechanical aptitude, and keen business acumen, he consistently delivers cost-effective solutions and builds high-performing teams.
Grant McDonald
Superintendent / Press Specialist
Grant McDonald serves as a Superintendent for South 49 Construction, supporting field operations and project delivery. Grant brings hands-on leadership, and attention to detail to ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently.
Grant is dedicated to upholding South 49’s standards for safety, workmanship, and professionalism on every job site. He is also one of the top wood press technicians in North America who’s expertise is sought after.
